Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

savetrip ideas

Japan's first high-rise hotel, with a nursing room to prove it.

This Shinjuku hotel opened in 1971, and says it adopted accessible design and childcare early. Its nursing room is themed on the shade of trees, with a porch out front wide enough to leave a stroller. Inside are a tap that pours hot water for formula and a microwave kept for warming baby food. A lounge at the top of the tower opens onto the view, and guests can sit in part of it shoes-off.
