Fukuoka has the best airport-to-city ratio in Japan: the subway under the domestic terminal reaches Hakata Station in about 6 minutes. With kids, that means no transfer marathon at all.
Nursing rooms
Nursing rooms are on every floor, each with a hot water heater and private nursing booths. In the international terminal, rooms also have baby seats for changing clothes and diapers.
Strollers
Loaner strollers at the domestic 1F information counters (North and South arrivals) from 8:00 until the last arriving flight, and at the international 1F and 3F information desks. Numbers are limited — grab one early rather than late.
Family restrooms
Diaper-changing stations are in restrooms on domestic floors 1–3 and all international floors 1–4; many stalls have baby chairs (for roughly 5 months to 2.5 years), and spacious priority restrooms fit a parent, a stroller and a toddler at once.
Into the city
- Subway from under the domestic terminal: about 6 minutes to Hakata, 12 to Tenjin — with an elevator all the way down
- International terminal connects by free shuttle bus to the domestic side (where the subway is)
Tips
- Coming off an international flight, factor in the shuttle to the domestic terminal before the subway — 15–20 extra minutes with a stroller.
- Hakata Station’s food halls solve the “everyone is hungry now” arrival problem better than the airport does.
